Umberto Veronesi Foundation and Lines joined their efforts to fight breast cancer and improve the life of many Italian women. In fact more than 48,000 women, each year, are affected by this disease in our country.
By participating in the “Pink is Good” project, promoted by the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, Lines sides with all the Italian women, especially those who fight every day against their disease. The project was designed with the aim of financing research fellowships for young doctors and scientists specialized in breast cancer, to raise women’s awareness and promote prevention, indispensable for identifying the disease at the earliest stages. Today, thanks to research, over 90% of women whose cancer was diagnosed at an early stage can heal.
On March 8, on the occasion of International Women's Day, Lines launched the initiative, on the one hand to raise awareness about the disease--unfortunately growing among women--with information and advice on prevention offered by researchers of the Veronesi Foundation and published on the lines.it website and linked websites, and on the other hand to help defeat breast cancer by supporting “minutes” of scientific research up to June 30, 2015.
“Lines has always cared for the health and well being of women,” said Piero Tansella, General Manager of Fater S.p.A. “The partnership with the Veronesi Foundation wants to be a responsible contribution to support the progress of scientific research and grow awareness on preventive measures."
Through the social networks, even users will be able to share the initiative from the lines.it website, inviting their contacts to participate. At the end of the project, the results achieved will be disclosed by communicating the overall minutes donated to research.
Thanks to the support of clever companies such as Lines, the Foundation can continue its commitment towards important projects like Pink is Good, addressed to the world of women. Since its establishment in 2003, the Veronesi Foundation has been engaged in the prevention and awareness campaigns to fight breast cancer and support scientific research. “In 2014, the Veronesi Foundation financed 28 doctors and researchers specialized in breast cancer,” said Monica Ramaioli, General Manager of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation.
