Fameccanica, Fater and P&G for Telethon: effective support for people with neuromuscular diseases

Social Responsibility
Testing on the first machine to recycle used personal hygiene absorbent products has started

A significant solidarity goal achieved through the Christmas markets organized by Fameccanica, Fater and Procter & Gamble. A proven formula that, for Christmas 2014, reached the highest result ever, by collecting 296,000 Euros in favor of the Telethon Foundation.

Under the aegis of the Telethon Foundation and in cooperation with Fameccanica, Fater and Procter & Gamble, the donations collected will be used to support the activities of the Nemo clinical center opening soon at the Agostino Gemelli General Hospital in Rome in favor of people with neuro-muscular diseases, such as muscular dystrophy and ALS.
The peculiarity of the highly specialized Nemo clinical centers (4 in Italy) lies, above all, in the multidisciplinary approach to the disease. A new model of care that provides the beneficiary, in a single process of about 1 week, with those medical examinations and those clinical and multidisciplinary rehabilitation therapies that would have required many hospitalizations in different hospitals and many medical specialists.
An undoubted advantage for the beneficiaries and their families that also includes the possibility to accommodate the families, for the period of care, at the facilities in order to provide the people affected by neuromuscular disease with the closeness of their loved ones.
There are about 40,000 people in Italy affected by neuromuscular diseases. The known diseases are about 150, involving muscle tissue, spinal cord, peripheral nerve or neuromuscular junctions, and can occur at any time of life compromising at different levels of seriousness movement and breathing capacity in particular.

A practical help by Fameccanica, Fater and Procter & Gamble in the name of human dignity and solidarity.
